And so the record ends with how it began: with a Blues shuffle about celebrating queerness.
This song is all about celebrating our various genders and sexualities as a community at Pride every year. It’s that embracing of queerness again, this time on a communal level.
The track is joyful, exciting, jubilant, exactly how I wanted it to be. The gang vocals were provided by the band hollering away- “It sounds out of time!” someone said, and my bass player D’Arcy Cain replied, “That’s even better, it makes it real!”
Chris, our Producer, said at the end of it, “You all sound like you’re drunk!”
The laughter you hear at the end is all of us laughing and having a good time, as it should be.
The song is the perfect way to end the record: joyous, laughing, a celebration of who queer people are as a community. I can’t think of a better way to end the record than this. I’m so proud of this record, and myself and the whole band, for making it and this song proves it. I really hope everyone loves this record. It really is outside the box, and I hope people embrace that as much as I have.
